This video is part of Oxfam's campaign to stop backroom deals and secret payments to foreign governments by U.S. oil, gas and mining companies. These practices keep citizens of other nations in poverty.
A current bill in congress would require these corporations to open their books to citizens in foreign countries where these companies operate. As you might imagine, lobbyists are in a major spin cycle to kill this bill.
